The T3180 Emergency Aircraft Beacon, or also referred to as Walter, was used for fighter pilots who jumped over the sea. It transmits on a frequency that could be picked up by the receiver of the Rebeca guidance system. The transmitter mast may also have served as a mast for the installation of a sail on a dinghy-type lifeboat. Two pieces of wire aligned perpendicular to the mast before use served as an antenna (dipole).
