30.09.2011 - Zmeny vo velení OS SR

At the press conference of the National Defence Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces on 30.09.2011 the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces General Ing. Ľubomír Bulík his decision to terminate his active activity in the Armed Forces as of 30.11.2011. The Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic, Ľubomír Galko, agreed with his decision and at the same time announced that a new Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces would not be provisionally appointed. His appointment will depend on how the Chief of the General Staff in charge manages to reform the armed forces. He also did not yet name the candidates who could be nominated to perform the said function.


In addition to the change in the post of the NGŠ, the MoD also announced the filling of the post of the 1st Deputy of the NGŠ of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, where as of 01.10.2011, Major General Ing. Miroslav Kocian. The second deputy remains Lieutenant General Ing. Jaroslav Vývlek.
The Chief of Staff for Operations Support, Brigadier General Ing. Milan Čelko is retiring today and will be replaced by the current Deputy of VSVaP, Brigadier General Ing. Juraj Krištofovič. As of 01.10.2011, the Deputy Commander of the SVaP is Brigadier General Ing. Josef Pokorný, who will be replaced as Chief of Staff for Strategic Planning by Brigadier General Ing. Ľubomír Svoboda (former Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Slovak Air Force).
