Col. William Cole, program manager of Soldier Protection and Individual Protection, announced that early next year, U.S. soldiers will receive improved boots and pants for hot weather. The upgraded combat uniform pants should be delivered in February or March. They should be made of thicker material and have knee pads. New combat gloves are also being developed.
