The military commanders of Libya's transitional government announced on Thursday, according to the BBC, that they had managed to take control of all three Saharan towns near the oasis of Djufra. They found chemical weapons in them. The aim of the campaign was to cut the escape route south from Bani Walid and from Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte, where they are still resisting rebel pressure.
