Iran successfully launched into space its own reconnaissance satellite Rassad-1. This was used a carrier rocket Safir, which carried her out into low-earth orbit at an altitude of 260 km above the earth. This should be according to the original plan released in August 2010, but technical problems caused the delay. Reconnaissance satellites of Rassad-1, weighing 15,5 kg, orbits the Earth 15 times per day.
