SVD Dragunov vs. Zastava M76

Diskuse

Hello. I've been thinking for a long time about buying a self-loading "sniper" rifle. after trying Dragunov, I almost decided to buy it, but I recently heard about the M76 and later read the test in the shooting range. does anyone have any experience (whether own or overheard) with this weapon? I assume that they will have similar properties, because they are built on the same Kalashnikov construction, but I have no idea about the charge for the M76 - 8x57JS. if I take it in tabular form, then 7.62x54R has, in terms of projectile energy and speed, basically the same values as 8x57JS (with the same projectile), but for 8 mm hunting ammunition there are more variants of the projectile, so you could achieve even better results compared to the Russian machine gun bullet, which exists for the civilian market in essentially one version
thanks in advance for any information

Unfortunately, I do not have a weapon in the caliber of 8x57JS, but I fired a few times from it and a few years ago I had the opportunity to see for myself how from Mauzera 98k one shooter for fifty meters pierced an iron plate about 18 mm thick (50 years old ammunition with a hard core - they were still available at the time) and it was very impressive. I know the 7.62x54R cartridge very well (I fired about 4,500 of them in the war is also excellent.

P.S. Dragunov loses accuracy from a distance of about 600 meters, but it is not a charge but a rather thin main. From a sniper repeater of the same caliber, the effective range is around 800 meters.

Someone knows the price of these weapons?.

Well 8x57JS is a pretty good cartridge - so for shooting up to 150 meters (I mean for classic use by hunters) . Ballistics of the cartridge is not the best but with optics where you can adjust the distance to be shot and with the right shot it may not be bad. The J is actually I - Infanterie and the S is thicker here which means the bullet has a larger diameter than 8mm (about 8,2). I have seen a pig shot with it on a naked pig (90 kilos after it was thrown and it lay on the spot as if it had hit a wall. Distance from the shooter is about 70 meters.

I know what the 8x57JS can do. I have a hunting license and I've seen what this bullet can do with a deer or a fallow deer. I'm not so much concerned with penetration as I am with maximum hydraulic shock. all animals have been killed within 200m. i'm just worried about shooting at longer distances (over 300m). i don't know how the bullet will behave afterwards, even if it still has enough energy. but I guess a good bullet will solve that. I checked the Sellier&Bellot website and the SBT GameKing (Spitzer Boat Tail) is designed for shooting at longer distances.
But then again, the Dragunov is a reliable sniper rifle, proven many times over, Russian snipers have reliably hit targets at 600m, and more in pretty harsh natural conditions. it's supposed to have a range of up to 1200m. that's a bit of an overestimate.
I'll have to do some more digging:

otherwise Zastava M76 costs 40000Kč, Dragunov is sold on the civilian market under the name TIGR, it costs something between 55-60Kč. there is also TIGR II, which is Dragonov SVDS (plasma upper receiver, foregrip and pistol grip, tubular folding stock with plastic boot and cheekpiece), it costs something over 60000Kč

btw: I shot a Dragon's borrowed, originally army, a bit "used", at 150m I shot a figure 85mm and that was the first time I held it Very Happy

The bullet will reliably kill even at a distance of 200 (deer, woodpecker and deer). As for shooting at longer distances, I think it depends on the bullet used. From a hunting point of view, shooting at a distance of more than 200 meters is only for the real big shots. I have shot some myself, but mostly within 100 meters (that's for sure). I never missed. (except for moving foxes, that's a bit harder to shoot) I've shot less than that, over 200 meters about 4 times (only hit at about 250 meters - I use 7x64 and 308Win). So the question is what to shoot at, whether just to paper or "live". Personally, I would use a different bullet with a better ballistic curve for this distance.

if I wanted something really good for shooting, I would buy for the 60k a Remington 700 with a mount. I'm just crazy enough to put on my camouflage, tactical vest, and "heykal", pack a three-day and go crawling into the woods for a weekend Very Happyso I need something that doesn't mind a little dust and mud. And yet, I'm also tempted by the fact that both guns are self-loading Wink

I can't agree with you about the interpretation of the S in the name of the cartridge (8x57 JS). The 8x57 JS cartridge was created in Germany by the German government to increase the range of the 8x57 J cartridge. This was achieved by using a 10,00g spicate and 28,3mm long bullet against the original round. This short-circuited the guide and sealing parts of the bullet. It was therefore necessary to increase the diameter of the bullet to 8.22mm and to adapt the bore to the barrel. The bore in the field was left 7,92, but the diameter in the rifling was deepened to 8,22. From the shape of the bullet was also derived the designation S (=spitz). Silny is in my opinion just a memorized memotechnical aid for the Czechs.

Jeste to 7,62x54 R vs. 8x57 JS my friend, who shoots sport sniper rifle and is a hunter evaluates better 8x57 JS. Personally, I wouldn't put any weight on which armies these cartridges were introduced in, as it was largely due to demographics in the beginning, and then they just introduced new weapons with the "standard" cartridge.

I've had an M76 in my hands and it made a very positive impression on me. It was only in the shop, so I couldn't shoot it. When the time is ripe and I get a safe, I'll go for it (after sporting use...).

To MithrandirofR: Did you make a hejkal, or did you get some universal...?

It MithrandirofR: Hejkala sis was not enough, or you're poridil yeah univerzal...?

The "S" opradu means strong, and it is derived from the German word Stark and vzatuhuje on the average of (strength, thickness) missiles, at the same time this word is used for the expression of something výkoného (efficient strong). so all parties have the right and can you shake hands Wink . I know this because I have already participated quarrels on this subject.

probably not really going to Zastavy, at least something to spare you Confused

otherwise it hejkala I made, a recipe I can add, but it's such a posbíraný everywhere throughout the internet.

this piti: when th wrangle a friend pulled a book Hunting shooting practice later, I have it too bought. otherwise this book (the author Jiří Hanák, the publisher of the Radix) is absolutely great, for a beginner the ideal.

thanks, I will ask for BVS, be it imported more cheaply. otherwise I have inquired with us in Jihlava in Florian's Arms and I too have it in fy Rehak & Řehák (www.rehak-lov.com all they told me a price of around 40k

ok, the instructions on the hejkala here to add, I have it on paper, so it will be, I hope, tomorrow.

The M76 and SVD are very similar. The M76 has a longer effective range due to its more powerful ammunition, but neither weapon is a sniper rifle. There are attempts to introduce self-loading weapons to snipers, but none of us will allow repeating rifles. They are slower, but more accurate and that's what we are interested in with precision shooting. If you want to go to the range and have a huge cadence buy an SVD rather than an M76 it's cheaper ammo with more rounds. The difference is in the weight of the bullet, which for a beginner in long range shooting has no effect yet.SVDcko can be found through friends in the sectors wrapped in waxed paper from 4500kč,but more likely to take it for yourself. So learn to shoot at long distances is not an ass.
