Oberbaurat Kniepkamp (Chief Civilian Adviser WaPrüf 6 armored combat vehicles, the individual categories of which were to use common unified parts. The project "E - Entwicklungsfahrzeug" was proposed in 5/1942, in 4/1943 it was approved for implementation.
As proposed the unification of parts for tank destroyers E-10 and E-25, so they should use common parts and projects of standard tanks E-50[/i ] a E-75. E-50 was to replace mid-range tanks Pz. Kpfw.IV a Pz.Kpfw.V "Panther". For new projects, an important structural element was to be addressed, and that was the suspension of the wheels. Torsion bar suspension should be abandoned and effective suspension should be introduced with easier repair and replacement in case of damage. In addition to the drive and tension wheels (both had gears), the chassis was to form castor assemblies consisting of two castors on a common suspension component, in which the suspension was mounted by means of toothed pinions and disc springs. This design was developed by Adlerwerke, Frankfurt am Main. The E-50 was to have three such assemblies on each side, i.e., six wheels on one side. The machine was to move on conveyor belts from E-75. The plans also included an alternative 8-cylinder diesel engine Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz, a torque converter from Voith and a hydro-mechanical transmission. However, the development did not go beyond drawing designs.
