South Korean soldiers yesterday fired on a civilian transport aircraft they mistakenly thought was North Korean. It happened on Gyodong Island, where two soldiers fired 99 shots from their K-2 rifles. Fortunately, the plane flew out of range of their weapons. It was an Asiana flight with 119 passengers on board to Seoul.
