Gunmen stormed the provincial council building in the provincial capital of Diyala, Baquba. At least eight people were killed. The attackers are still in the building holding hostages. The attack began with two cars exploding outside the building where the council was meeting. According to witness reports, there were also two suicide bombings inside the building.
