Object 268- factory designation of the prototype self-propelled howitzer of 152 mm calibre. It was constructed in Leningrad under the direction of Ž. J. Kotin (Жозеф Яковлевич Котин) in 1956 on a heavy tank chassis T-10. It was not accepted into armament, one unit was built. The armament was housed in a superstructure located at the front of the machine. The basic armament was a 152.4 mm M-64 cannon with a magazine of 35 anti-armor and fragmentation rounds with a reloading machine. A telescopic sight TŠ-2A (ТШ-2А) was used for direct aiming, and a ZIS-5 (ЗИС-5) sight was used for indirect aiming. The vehicle commander had a TKD-9 optical rangefinder (ТКД-09). The cannon had the ability to range +/- 12° from the vehicle's axis, the additional (anti-aircraft) armament consisted of a 14.5 mm KPVT machine gun with 500 rounds of ammunition. The frontal armour of the gun carapace was 187 mm thick and had an inclination of 27.5°. The side armour was inclined at an angle of 20° with a thickness of 100 mm. The rear body armour was removable, to ensure disassembly of the weapon. The vehicle was equipped with a V-12-6 (В-12-6) engine with a power of 551 KW.
