Engineer version Sd.Kfz.251. On the sides of the vehicle were placed the components of an emergency engineer bridge. Crew of 7-8 men. Armament was the standard 2 MG34/42, but one subversion is known with an anti-tank gun PaK36 of 37mm calibre instead of a front machine gun, but which had no protective shield. This modified wagon was probably used by lower level commanders as a passenger wagon. Some of the machines were equipped with a Fu5 Fu5 radio. There was also a small series with a PB39 7.92mm calibre anti-tank rifle (40 rounds) instead of a front machine gun.
