Mother Heroine
Urdhëri i Nënë Heroine
The decoration was completely subordinated to the ideology of the Soviet Union and even in appearance bears a striking resemblance to a similar USSR order (see picture). It was founded on 2 October 1955 and the order is known by the name:
Mother Heroine Honorary Title.
This high distinction could be awarded to a woman-mother who had raised at least ten children. The order was always presented on 8 March (International Women's Day). Inaccurate statistics state that approximately 50-100 were awarded.
Specialists in Albanian phaleristics state that two variants of the order can be distinguished according to the hinge and the hanging loop.
