Note on the numbering of the support points in the KVUGr Marcouf:

By comparing the German and allied maps you can see that the support points in the stretch KVUGr Marcouf are numbered in three different ways. The oldest numbering starting point of WN 1 in Le Grand Vey on the southern border of the section and continues to the north (see annex 01). The second numbering follows the numbering in the neighboring section of the KVUGr Vir (ending anchor WN 99), so from the WN 1 has become the WN 100. This numbering continues until after WN 106 in La Redoute d Audouville, where it turns inland and ending point WN 110 back to the south (see annex 02). The third numbering of the starting point of the StP Of 100 (Stp 9 ) in Les Dunes de Varreville and continues to the northern boundary of the section. The cause of this irregularity is the reorganization of the coastal defenses in Normandy (launched in early 1944), in which the interface KVUGr Vir and KVUGr Marcouf rise to "Group of points of Vir", composed of the supporting points of the two sections (see annex 03). On the German maps corresponds to a new way of numbering the pivot points in KVUGr Marcouf, which, however, already the Allies didn't take over and on your maps stay with the numbering of the original. Therefore, they have to this day some of the footholds KVUGr Marcouf two numbers, e.g. WN 104 (WN 5), where appropriate, there are two points with the number of the same, e.g. WN 103 (WN 4) and WN 103 (WN 13).
