But so was his rank descent, for on 02.10.1942 he was dismissed from his post as Deputy Chief of the Automobile and Tank Administration of the Don Front "for his negligent attitude to the matter, for showing cowardice and deceiving a superior officer", and his military rank was reduced to "Lieutenant Colonel".
