Turecké jednotky vstúpili na územie severného Iraku v rámci odvetnej operácie proti skrýšam kurdských povstalcov (Strana kurdských pracujúcich), ktorí za 24 hodín zabili 12 tureckých vojakov. V Iraku zabili turecké jednotky štyri osoby. Zahynul aj jeden turecký vojak, ďalší utrpel zranenia.
